Mori Style

Mori style is a Japan street fashion that looks earthy and natural. Mori means "forest" in Japanese, hence basic concept of the style is "a girl that looks like she is living in forest".

I was introduced to this style by Popteen few years back, when the famous Yui Kanno (菅野結以) has demonstrated the way to complete the style. So bad she is no longer in Popteen, she was my favorite model ever. It's the rule for the magazine, of those who is above 23 years old, they will be graduated from the magazine, and move to another publication.

To have a Mori style, woodsy color is widely used. White, beige, brown and nude colors are the essence of the style. Mori girl loves to dress in loose and comfortable dresses. She will pick cotton or knitted pieces during shopping. They are good in doing layering as well, combining scarf, top, vest, cardigan, long inner and pant.

I love Mori style, Mori style is comfortable. It can conceal my tummy and my flabby arm :)
I know only little about fashion, for me dress up is to bring out my best and to hide the bad.
Mori style is nice, but what I do is to simplify the style.

To survive and being sweatless in a hot weather like Malaysia, I cut down the layering part, 2 pieces for top is my maximum. you can pair light purple tank top with knitted vest to get the Mori feel. In addition to natural colors, I always love to mix and match with pastel color. Pastel yellow and grey give a comfortable impression. Denim blue and beige are fine too.

Don't overdone with laces, your boyfriend will feel awkward of bringing you out.

flats or heels are both okay to complete the look. Just choose the simple or oxford design, white or brown color to best suit any top.

Do you love Mori style?
